I’m going to be applying a new theme tonight, so just bear with me. I’ll post again when I’m all finished.
Some things may break, and I’ll be fixing them as I go.

I’m going to be applying a new theme tonight, so just bear with me. I’ll post again when I’m all finished.
Some things may break, and I’ll be fixing them as I go.
August 18, 2007I moved the blog, and it wasn’t too bad at all. I have been reading up on my .htaccess, and now if you type the domain name with or without the www, you will be redirected to http://port16.com/blog. It works pretty nicely.
I have one link out there that is probably going to be broken,
The one problem that I saw, was that Technorati is counting every post in the /blog directory as a link to the root directory. Very inconvenient.
I knew that I was going to break the links to the images, and at this point I didn’t have much up there, so I just went through and fixed them all.
Thanks for bearing with me.
August 18, 2007Well everyone, I decided to move my blog to a “/blog” subdirectory. You probably won’t see this before I do the move, but I might as well let you know.
Wish me luck, even if you don’t see this.

The Next Internet Millionaire’s first episode is available, and if you are interested in Internet Marketing, or if you like reality TV, especially “The Apprentice”, then I think you should check it out.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of reality TV, but I really liked the show. Although there wasn’t much of an introduction to the contestants, they were all very likable, and I didn’t really have a favorite. At least not yet.
One thing that was missing from the show, and I hope it stays MIA, is the childish clicks that form on most shows. I thought that all of the contestants were very nice to each other, and no one was calling anyone names.
The contestants were given a presentation about Simpleology from Mark Joyner, and then they had to design a web site for it. The teams only had 2 hours, so they didn’t have to code the site, it was just on paper. They also had to give a presentation to “sell” their ideas.
The show still had the normal “features” of most reality shows, contestants compete, losers get eliminated, and someone can earn “immunity”. The one thing that I really liked, is that those “targeted for elimination” go to the “sandbox”. Joel didn’t give the details, but he said that they can redeem themselves and get back in the competition.
I always hate it when someone is really good, or hasn’t had a chance to show their talents, and they get eliminated the first episode. Or when someone gets stabbed in the back, and never has a chance for revenge.
The immunity that the contestants can earn is sponsored by “Hacker Safe“, which I thought was a really good idea, especially since it is a web only show.
Joel Comm is much more likable than Donald Trump. I don’t think that anyone took offense to any of his criticism.
All in all, I really liked the show, and I’ll be watching next week.
Of course, I converted to to DVD, and watched it on my television.
August 17, 2007I’ve heard a number of bloggers complaining that they are experiencing writer’s block, and I truly sympathize with them. However in my case, I have diarrhea of the brain. I can’t stop what is coming out of it, and the best I can do is just try to get it all down somewhere.
Of course, and idea isn’t a finished product, and that is where my problem lies. I have a huge number of posts that I need to just go ahead and write. Some of them require a whole bunch of work, and I should get started on them, some of them don’t require much of anything, but it seems like anytime I sit down to get a post going, I end up with a series of post snippets.
I use Microsoft OneNote for my note taking, because it is really easy to keep notebooks on several computers synchronized with a thumb drive, you can keep particular sections private, and it works well with graphics and text layout. The notebooks are even available to you when you don’t have the thumb drive handy, like when you forget it at home. This way not only can I keep the notes related to my personal life, but I can also keep all of my work notes, as well as reference and reading materials, all in a handy, organized fashion.
Yes, there was a whole series of post ideas around OneNote, but that isn’t why I mention it.
There is a toolbar in OneNote that shows you the pages that are within a section. The picture on the left is the page listing of the “Misc Posts” section of one of my notebooks. These are all partial posts or post ideas, that I just haven’t gotten around to finishing.
I know that if I just keep working on these, that I am going to hit a point where I have more finished posts than I know what to do with. Well, I’ll know what to do with them, I’ll post them. Relax, it was just a figure of speech.
Before I took the screen shot, I sized the window so that you couldn’t see the entire title of the pages, I didn’t want to give away any spoilers. I also didn’t want to change the title, and have someone ask “What happened to the how to catch a monkey post?”.
OK, back to working on one of my posts.
