Almost Done: Review of 7th Son Podcast Novel
September 5, 2007
I’ve been listening to the 7th Son Podcast since before I posted this review of the EarthCore Audio book by Scott Sigler. Now I seem to have some time on my hands, you see, I caught up with the author.
What does that mean? Well, like any other podcast, the books are released on a episode by episode basis. Depending on the release schedule, and the length of each episode, this can take awhile. When I listened to EarthCore, the podcast was finished already, so I was able to listen to it as much as I liked.
When I first started listening to 7th Son Book 1 Descent, and 7th Son Book 2 Deceit, they also were completed. Once again, I could listen to as much of the book as I had time to. Since 7th Son Book 3 Destruction is still being produced, I have to wait for the next episode.
JC, J.C. Hutchins that is, If you are reading this, stop! Go record some more of that book!
I’m just kidding. Everyone has to take a little bit of a break.
On with the Review (Contains general statements, but no plot specifics)
When I first heard the Promo for 7th Son, it didn’t really grab my attention. It mentioned cloning, and a 4 year old killing the President. Not sure why, but it didn’t really have me jumping over to get it.
The book is so much more than the promo can ever cover. Book 1 was very interesting, but it was all kind of setup, until the end.
Book 2 was where the fecal matter strikes the oscillating object. It was non-stop from the get go, and you really have to rethink what has been going on from the beginning.
Book 3 is still non-stop action. I finished Chapter 17, and I’m waiting for Chapter 18. Of course, I don’t know how many chapters are left. Book 1 and 2 were 27 chapters and 29 chapters respectively, so hopefully at least 10 more.
I’ll try and update this as soon as I finish the Podcast, but I wanted to get some more people turned on to this great book. You can subscribe at either JC Hutchins’ site, or at PodioBooks, the primary difference is that there is much more fan stuff on JC’s site, some of it is really cool, and it’s kind of neat to see all of these other people who are such big fans.
