One of the reasons that I haven’t moved from Colorado yet is the beauty of the place. I just don’t know many places that are as breathtaking as Colorado. At least not many other places I’ve been.

Now, I don’t want to start a whose state is prettier contest, I’m very fond of saying that “The mind can make a hell out of a heaven, and a heaven out of a hell”. I’m not sure who said it first, but I discovered it while I was in the Marine Corps, and I still find it true to this day.

The Mountains here are spectacular, and the rock formations are out of this world. The weather is great, and even the winters aren’t that bad.

The last couple of weeks I went with various video games for my wallpapers, so I wanted to do something different.

Today’s Wallpaper is “Dead Star Creates Celestial Havoc”, from the NASA Wallpapers directory at the Jet Propulsion Labs Web site. Your best bet to download it is to go to the NASA Wallpapers Directory page, and it is located on the top left.

If you click on the “More Info” link, you can get an explanation of what the image is, as well as how it was taken. There are lots of neat images here, available in various resolutions.

Besides images of things happening in the heavens, there are also images from mars, and earth. Well worth the visit.

You know the game I’m really waiting on, but I still look forward to playing StarCraft 2 when it comes out. I was a huge fan of StarCraft, and I’m going to need something to tide me over until Diablo 3 is released, right?

This wallpaper has a group of Marines in the foreground, with a Nuclear warhead going off in the distance. Good stuff!

Last Tuesday, I was kind of floored when I found out about Diablo 3 being announced, but alas, it was too late for Wallpaper Tuesday. Not this week!

This week’s selection if the Diablo 3 logo, from the official Diablo 3 Media page, it’s available in many, many resolutions, so feel free to grab the one that’s appropriate for you.

Don’t worry, they don’t have a huge number of wallpapers there, so I won’t be able to just keep picking them from the site, I’ll have to go out and find some other wallpaper topics too. Enjoy!

This Wallpaper Tuesday we have something a little different, an original image! We went camping last weekend, and found this terrific cliff, with a large expanse of rock. I thought a picture of the rock would make for a nice wallpaper.

I know, that’s pretty bad, I’m out in the middle of the wilderness, on such a magnificent creation, and I’m thinking about my desktop wallpaper, but what can I do, I’m a geek.

I actually took several shots, but I like this shot, which has a large horizontal crack in it, best out of them.

Clicking on the image will open the original in a new window, and you’re more than welcome to right click and choose “save as”, so that you can use it as your very own wallpaper.
